Why You Should Wear the Sweatpants to Your Boudoir Session!

(Because sweatpants are comfy af and who doesn't feel like a million bucks when they are comfy?? I mean, I know I do.)

I remember booking my boudoir session.

I wanted some sexy photos in my bridal lingerie, but I also wanted some super laid back photos that showed my everyday sexy.

My ‘everyday sexy’ ultimately meant I wanted to wear my sweatpants and a bra for some photos.

Not kidding.

And when I asked my photographer about it, I was SO nervous. I didn’t want her to think I was weird!

We hadn’t, and never did, meet before the session. So I had no way of knowing if she liked me, if our personalities worked well together, or anything.

But, back then she was pretty much the only photographer offering boudoir that didn’t suck. So, I didn’t have much of a choice on who to do my session with. I just chose the best of my options.

Now, there are so many options for women, which is amazing! Everyone can find a photographer that they love!

I am not literally saying you need to wear sweatpants to your boudoir session. You may not want to. Plus, some sweatpants have big logos or distracting designs on them and we want the focus on you, not your pants, ha!

Or if you're me, they have paint all over them. (I still wear them in public and get funny looks. #DontEvenCare)

But I want to really emphasize that boudoir is whatever the hell you make it!

So many clients come to me thinking they have to have all this fancy lingerie, and you really don't.

I actually prefer clients bring the simplest outfits because, again, I want the focus to be on you and not your outfit.

Now, I'm also not saying going and buying super cute lingerie is frowned upon. It is not at all frowned upon! But, the simpler, the better. Like a bra and panty set or a bodysuit/teddy.

Most clients do buy some lingerie for their session. I bought some for mine! And I will be buying some for my maternity session!

The lingerie I buy will be neutral in color, accentuate my best features, and only serve the purpose of making me look fantastic. (I super can’t wait for my maternity session!)

I ended up not doing the sweatpants look. Since I’d never met her, I didn’t know if it would work out or if she’d really hate the idea, etc. Instead we went with a cute theme that matched my wedding theme.

But I still kind of wish I’d done the sweatpants and bra photos. Cause man, I feel SO SEXY in my sweatpants and a bra.

That is why I meet with every.single.client*!

I straight up insist on it.

If you can’t meet in person, we do a video call. That way you see my face, see my personality, and can be comfortable with whatever it is you want for your session!

So, I want to tell you that I am here for you. I don’t judge, and you’ll know this because I’m usually crazier than everyone else and the LEAST reserved person ever. I am 100% open about all things, embarrassing and personal.

Don’t ever feel embarrassed about whatever it is you want to wear to a session. Bring whatever you want. I will choose outfits that are the most flattering for your body and look best in photos. I may not choose everything you bring, but don’t ever feel limited to lingerie.

Ever.

And if there is an item that is a must wear for your session, let me know! Then I will be sure to make it one of the chosen outfits.

I love helping women feel amazing in their own skin.

Our bodies are literally just the thing our souls were put in. So, if we can accept that and learn to love the skin we are in, we won’t feel so held back by our lack of confidence!

I’m pretty sure it’s a proven fact that confidence leads to success.

So I just want to make sure I can help you accomplish feeling like a badass, in whatever way I can for your session!
