"Love Yourself Post Baby!" | Advice from Deanna| Shreveport Boudoir

Hey ladies! Today I have an incredible story about loving yourself post-baby. Let’s be honest, post-baby bodies are never going to look like pre-baby ones! You grew an entire human inside of you! That takes a toll on your body. So, today we hear Deanna’s journey!

Deanna is an incredible woman that I have known since high school. She is now married to a lovely man, Jesse, with a beautiful baby girl named Darcy! Darcy is almost 2 years old and Momma was having a bit harder of a time loving herself than she did when she was a teenager. She loves her body thanks to her incredible husband and to her understanding that she is beautiful for so many more things than just her body. And because, her body grew a human!!! Let's hear what Deanna has to say about this...

“I love my body because it gave my husband and I the most precious gift- our sweet Darcy. I love my body because for 9 months, my body and I fed Darcy, we housed her, we kept her safe. And when she was ready to enter the world my body and I helped her make her grand entrance. Why wouldn't I love my body for that? And sure I'll have the extra pounds in some areas of my body, but instead of being ashamed or embarrassed of it, I look at my beautiful daughter and am reminded that I did that. I helped create that precious, tiny little human and that pride and joy, in itself, is extraordinary.” - Deanna
“I am healthy, happy, and loved and that's all I need to be beautiful.” - Deanna

And she is right. Beauty is not just your body. It is SO much more. If you know how to love, that is beautiful. If you can make people laugh, that is beautiful. If you know how to teach, that is beautiful. There are so many things that make us beautiful. And I think the first step to loving yourself is to look at yourself in a mirror or in a photo and say “I love that person! I love who she is and how she looks because everything she is makes a beautiful and remarkable person!!!”

Deanna chose to stay unretouched in her boudoir portraits.
